ADOPTING & INTEGRATING
THE UNITED NATIONS
GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY DEVELOPMENT GOALS.

ONE PLANET.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted in September 2015 by the member states of the United Nations. The SDG's are a tangible action plan for people, planet and prosperity. The goals include 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets. They balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental. They rely on partnerships, thus requiring everyone to work together: businesses (such as ours), governments, charities, NGOs and society.

We have integrated sustainability and the SDG's as a clear framework into our strategies, decision-making, operations and performance dashboards, to ensure that sustainability goals are firmly embedded in our culture and purpose, talent decisions, and company strategies. We believe the Global Goals are not just a nice thing to do—they are a path to a prosperous world - for all.

SUPPORTING GLOBAL EFFORTS TO COMBAT

CLIMATE CHANGE

CLIMATE CHANGE IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST THREATS TO HUMANITY.

Climate change is a global most urgent issue, the effects of which are already being seen all over the world through natural disasters, heat waves, droughts, floods, loss of biodiversity, air pollution, and rising sea levels.

Climate change affects the world's poorest and most disenfranchised people and communities at considerably greater extent than those in developed countries with means.

We are committed to support decarbonizing  our lives and the economy and to create sustainable markets and new perspectives on renewable energy and innovation.

POVERTY DEEPLY IMPACTS

CHILDREN & FAMILY HEALTH & WELFARE

1 CHILD DIES EVERY 21 SECONDS

FROM UNSAFE DRINKING WATER.

A lack of access to safe drinking water, is the root cause of poverty for over a billion families (1 family in 7) globally.

790 million people worldwide do not have access to safe drinking water, (11% of the world's population), which the United Nations lists as "the" greatest problem facing the world today.

Because contaminated water is a major cause of illness and death, water quality is a determining factor in human poverty, education, and economic opportunities.

35% of the world’s population lack access to improved sanitation and hygiene knowledge or resources (W.A.S.H.), and millions of people are infected with neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), each year, caused by water and/or hygiene-related, such as Guinea Worm Disease, Trachoma, Buruli Ulcer, and Schistosomiasis. These diseases are most often found in places with unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and insufficient hygiene practices.
